My research focuses on assessing the hydroclimatic impacts of hydropower in cold regions with a changing cryosphere, using the Romaine hydropower complex in Quebec as a case study. I examine the hydrology of the basin through land surface and hydrological modeling using CSLM and CLASSIC to simulate key processes such as evaporation, runoff, and surface energy balance. The work aims to quantify the water footprint of hydropower operations and evaluate how cryospheric changes influence water availability and reservoir sustainability.
