My PhD project aims to analyse the amplifying role of evaporation in droughts in southern Quebec in the context of climate change. It is based on the Canadian CLASSIC surface model, which simulates interactions between the Earth's surface and the atmosphere. The project consists of characterising past and future droughts (amplitude, frequency, duration) in different forest bioclimatic domains. Conducted in collaboration with the MELCCFP, this work will contribute to proposing improvements for estimating evaporation and low water flows in future climates in the Hydroclimatic Atlas of Southern Québec.
